Effective October 5, 2026
Script Cutter lets you cut a script down and export the result. It's available as a web app and as an iPhone and iPad app. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use either one.
In the iPhone and iPad app this is stored in the app's private storage on your device. In the web app it is stored in your browser's local storage. Neither is uploaded to us. When you open a PDF, its text is read on your device.
Nothing automatically. Script Cutter doesn't ask you to create an account, doesn't ask for your name or email address, and doesn't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools. The iPhone and iPad app makes no network connections of its own. The web version doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising.
The web version is for people who own the app. To use it you enter an access code, which you'll find in the app. We don't ask who you are and the code isn't linked to your name or email address. After you enter it, your browser keeps one small functional cookie so you stay signed in. It's used only to check that you've entered a valid code and is removed when you choose Sign Out. To protect the code from guessing, the server briefly remembers how many wrong codes were entered from a visitor, using a one-way scrambled form of the visitor's IP address, and discards it after about 15 minutes.
When you export a cut script as text, PDF or Word, or share it through your device's share sheet or the Email option, the file or text goes where you send it, such as your Files, a messaging app or your email app. What those apps and services do with it is covered by their own policies. We don't see it.
If you use the contact form or email support@scriptcutterapp.com, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, such as the device you use. The form sends your message to our support inbox by email, and we don't keep it anywhere else. We use it only to reply and to improve Script Cutter, and we don't share it or sell it. Please don't send us a script you want to keep private.
Script Cutter isn't directed at children, and it doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Because we don't collect personal information through the app or web app, there's nothing for us to access, correct, port or delete beyond any emails you've sent us. If you're in a region with data protection rights (such as the EU, the UK or California) and want to make a request, email support@scriptcutterapp.com.
If we change how Script Cutter handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change affects how your information is handled, we'll say so in the app or on this site.
